As landscape photographers mature in their art and craft, they often seek to move beyond merely recording a scene to communicating the feelings and ideas it evokes. Combining words with photographs is one way to accomplish that goal. A combination of images and text is often more powerful than either alone. It can provide the viewer not only with context and the photographer’s intent but also, at times, insight into the photographer as a person.
