ABOUT THE ARTIST

Don Rommes is a retired neonatologist with a lifelong interest in photography and a 20+ year history as a photography instructor. His main areas of photographic interest include the natural landscape of the American West and the cultural landscape of the ancient cultures of the desert southwest.

 

Don's images of nature are frequently licensed by his company, Iris Arts (www.irisarts.com), by art consultants who provide "evidence-based” photography to healthcare facilities. Don's work on the ancient cultural landscapes of southern Utah (particularly in Bears Ears and Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monuments) has resulted in two published books and several E-books on the subject,
